Energy Healing
Quantum physics acknowledges that we are all made up of energy, as is everything around us. It is the most basic building block of life and like the air we breathe, most people can’t see it. Energy flows through and creates everything -even our thoughts and emotions are energy.
All living beings have an innate ability to achieve a perfect state of balance. The purpose of energy healing is to enhance and empower the individual return or maintenance of this balance. The healer acts as a channel for the healing energies in order to help bring that about. The energy passes through the healer’s hands to the person receiving the healing. Clients effectively heal themselves, with the healer simply raising the energetic vibrations to such a high level that the conditions are the optimum they can possibly be for the body to heal itself. Healing is not magic, or wishful thinking, although the results can be so amazing at times that they certainly seem magical. Healing may be given for any illness, stress or injury as a complementary therapy absent of any side effects.
We tend to experience life through our physical body, our emotions and our intellect rather than our whole being, our spirit. Somewhere along the line the idea of spirit drifted away from everyday life.
Treatments can bring relief to a wide range of other conditions, including:
- Marked and rapid relaxation, with associated changes in breathing rate, release of muscle tension, and sense of inner calm
- Pain relief from symptoms associated with both physical and psychological stress
- A marked reduction in anxiety and greater sense of being able to cope
- Increased function of the immune system, as measured by salivary proteins
- An overall increase in a sense of well-being
- Accelerated wound healing, including post-operative healing
- An enhanced sense of personal efficacy, flexibility, open-mindedness and creativity
- Greater problem-solving functioning
Our spirit is our essence, our life force, it is inside us and it surrounds us; a mass of pulsating energy. It is known as Chi in China, Ki in Japan and Prana in India. It is also sometimes called universal energy.
This energy does not emanate or reflect from a person, the energy is the person, the core. Since the body is a manifestation of human energy, dis-harmony in the energy field will cause dis-ease in the body. If the human energy field is out of balance, the body will be out of balance.
This subtle, luminous radiating energy surrounding and extending outward from our physical body is known as the Aura. The Aura is related to the electromagnetic field of the body and serves as a visual measure of our mental, emotional, physical and spiritual state. These subtle energies of the body in the Indian tradition are known as Chakras, or energy centres.
During a healing treatment, the vibrational frequency of brain waves is altered in ways, which promote profound relaxation. Not only can this take you into a quite blissful meditative state, where you feel deeply in touch with yourself and life in general, but such a state positively affects key systems in the brain, nervous system and endocrine system. In particular, the immune system is stimulated into becoming more efficient, with obvious benefits for healing, as well as for general well being.
What to expect during and after energy healing
The client remains fully clothed. They will be covered with a sheet or blanket for their comfort. During the treatment the client may sense the flow of energies with feelings of warmth, coolness, tingling or relaxation. It is quite common for clients to fall asleep during a treatment. This is normal and allows for deep healing to occur at an unconscious level.
Clients may experience some form of emotional release, such as tears or laughter, during a session. Releasing emotions during or after a session enables the healing .Through such a release the client is actually “processing” and clearing “stuff” as a result of the energetic changes. It is just the body’s way of releasing what needs to be cleared and bringing our awareness to what we need to let go of as well as what is no longer benefiting us.
Following a treatment, it is important that the client drinks plenty of water afterwards to flush away any toxins that may have been released.
